Michael Strahan, lover of pre-season football.

New York Giants defensive end, Michael Strahan, decided on Friday that it was close enough to the regular season that he was able to end his hold-out and report to the Giants.  Strahan, who was being fined $14,000 a day for the last 36 days ($504,000 total) because of the time missed, reached a settlement for an undisclosed amount.

Every piece of information that I had read on this story seemed to imply that Strahan was simply sitting out to miss all of the grueling practices and meaningless pre-season games.  Quite frankly, I don’t blame him.  He’s 35 years old, he’s been to the pro bowl numerous times…he doesn’t need the practices or the pre-season games to psyche himself up to play in the regular season.  This sounds like nothing more than a good $500,000 investment.

Strahan is represented by Tony Agnone, of Eastern Athletic Services
